Studying Biomimetics in Bremen:
Biomimetics can be studied at City University of Applied Sciences Bremen as a Bachelor's degree or as a Master's degree with a specialization in Mobile Systems.
The bachelor's degree (International Study Course Biomimetics: ISB) usually lasts 7 semesters, whereby the 5th semester is spent abroad. Prerequisite is a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or entrance qualification for studies at universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife) or a comparable degree.
The Master course (Biomimetics: Mobile Systems) has 3 semesters. A completed degree program (diploma, bachelor's degree or comparable) with 210 ECTS credits and an average grade of at least 2.5 is required.
Prof. Dr. Kesel on the importance of teamwork in biomimetics and its cross-interface significance in the natural sciences and technology. GREEN UP YOUR FUTURE is an exhibition project of BIOKON e.V. and Green Economy Academy e.V. on jobs with "greening" potential (video in german language).
For whom is the biomimetics course suitable?
If the formal requirements are met, the biomimetics course is suitable for all curious people interested in natural sciences who have a desire to work in a team and in an interdisciplinary way and to be creative.
In both the Bachelor's and Master's programs, work in a project is an important component. Here, students get together in groups of 3-6 people and develop a concept, demonstrator or even prototype for a problem using biomimetic principles.
Around the projects, specialized knowledge in the fundamentals of natural sciences and special selected areas of mechanical engineering is taught.
